Sergii Chernov: Over the past 10 years, the DYTIATKO Television Festival has learned to walk confidently

ergii Chernov, the Head of the Kharkiv Regional Council, has solemnly started the Tenth  DYTIATKO International Children’s Television Festival.

Congratulating the youth, Sergey Chernov, the President of the Festival, said: “Ten years have passed as one moment. During this time, children grew up, someone of them chose the cinema art as a profession of their lives, and today we already have the professional cinema directors among our graduates.”

DYTIATKO International Children’s Television Festival has been started since 2009. From that moment, every year from all over the world, young people come to the Kharkiv Region for the sake of one goal – the comprehensive development of the children’s broadcasting.

“During these warm September days Kharkiv hospitably welcomes young and professional TV workers. This year the Festival has united all the regions of Ukraine. Today in this hall we gladly welcome the finalists from Lugansk and Donetsk regions as well as from the Autonomous Republic of Crimea among others”, – the Chairman of the Regional Council emphasized. – For ten years of existence of the Festival, it has been attended by children from 91 countries of the world. I think, that not plenty of time will pass and there won`t be any state that did not participate in our international movement of creative ideas called “Dytiatko”.

So, during the years of heavy activity of the TV Festival, the number of competitive categories has increased by several times. It should be noted that among them there is one special: “Local self-government – we are!” The partner of this nomination is the Council of Europe, which supports the promotion of the activity of local self-government authorities, in order to raise the interest of teenagers to the development of democracy and encourage young people for the stepped-up participation in activities of their communities.
