IX International Children’s Television Festival “Dytiatko” started in Kharkiv

Today on September 6th, IX International Children’s Television Festival “Dytiatko” has taken place in Kharkiv. This time 134 works from 33 countries have been submitted to the final. Along with the jury, Sergii Chernov, the Chairman of Kharkiv Regional Council and Volodymyr Skorobahach, the Deputy Chairman of Kharkiv Regional Council, presented diplomas to all the finalists of this festival. Sergii Chernov welcomed guests in Kharkiv region and wished success in their struggle for victory in various nominations.


Sergii Chernov, a thought leader and establisher of the festival “Dytiatko”, the Chairman of Kharkiv Regional Council said: “A team-minded and merry family of “Dytiatko” has been expanding from year to year, we appreciate our loyal friends so much, they have been with us from the first festival, and we are always glad to have new friends who visit our holiday for the first time.  I am sure, unforgettable days full of bright impressions, interesting meetings, useful communication with our special quests and participants of the festival are waiting for you.”

Besides, the Chairman of Kharkiv Regional Council noted that this year more than a thousand of competition works (1051) of 887 participants from 87 countries have been submitted to the organizing committee.  Total duration of the submitted works is more than 220 hours. 134 works from 33 countries have been selected for the competition program of the festival “Dytiatko”.

The participants of IX festival will have bright and busy days full of meet-the-artist events, trainings, presentations, review and discussion of the competitive works, entertaining leisure and communication with children, who create television and radio products in other regions. There will be master classes for children carried out by international experts.  The professional jury is represented by experts from Ukraine, Belarus, Spain, Czech Republic and Turkey. Taking into consideration that the year of 2017 is announced to be the year of Japan in Ukraine, Mitsuo Goda, a Japanese stage director is invited to be an honored guest of the festival.

The various master classes performed by Dmytro Petrenko, a visual culture researcher, by Nataliya Morozova, a Belarusian stage director, by Mitsuo Goda, a Japanese stage director, by Andrii Kulikov, a Ukrainian show presenter and media expert, by Illia Svidler, the Director of International Cinema Distribution Company “KINOLIFE” are included into the festival program.



The International Children Festival “Dytiatko was founded in 2009 by Kharkiv Regional Council on the initiative of its Chairman Mr. Sergii Chernov.

The purpose of the festival is developing children television in Ukraine, increasing the professional level of television oriented on children intended audience, as well as supporting children creative groups.

Over the period of existence a number of nominations increased by several times. Among the nominations offered to the festival participants there is a special one: “We are local self-government!”. The partner of this nomination is the Council of Europe which assists popularization of activity of local self-governing authorities, raising interests of the teenagers towards development of democracy and promoting the youth to take more active part in life of the communities

The festival is a member of CIFEJ – the world professional non-commercial organization “International Center of films for children and young people” established by UNESCO.
