Kateryna Yaresko described the differences between the public journalism and blogging

The final master class at the DYTIATKO International Children’s Media Festival was performed by Kateryna Yaresko who is a Head of Department of Social Communications Management of KhNUE named after Simon Kuznets, blogger and a citizen journalist.
The expert asked all future bloggers to be responsible for the dissemination of any material, because if a blogger becomes a source of fakes – it will become the collapse for his reputation.
Kateryna Yaresko spoke about the types of information and its sources, the possibilities of expanding the thematic range for authorial publications and creation of a unique product by analyzing and generalizing other information products.
The speaker informed the audience about the criteria of ethics in the citizen journalism and blogging such as liberty of speech, service to the public interests, objectivity, respect to human privacy, separation of facts from judgments and assumptions, prohibition of plagiary.
The participants of the workshop also got acquainted with the features of citizen journalism, its differences from professional journalism and its social importance; also there was a talk about blogging and copyright in this area; blogging as a way of professional, social, civic and political development of a person.
