Dragons from “Game of Thrones” migrate to Kharkiv

Over two hundred finalists of the X DYTIATKO International  Children’s Television Festival  will gather on the camp base “Sunny” in Kharkiv for the period from September 5 till September 8. Children from abroad and almost all regions of Ukraine will attend this event. Their works will be evaluated by the international jury from Germany and Korea, Iran and Belarus, Greece, Spain, Ukraine.

This year the participants of animation genre got lucky. Four master classes from prominent animation creators are prepared for them.

For a six-hour period participants of the festival together with masters from Kyiv studio RIDNI Animation have the chance to dive into the breathtaking world of animation using plasticine, molding techniques, stop-motion. During the workshop Rodion Shub and Vsevolod Yatsres will tell about the most important events in the history of animation, how it is created and what it is like nowadays. Also, the teachers will invite the children to create their own heroes from plasticine, “inhale” life in them, find out the secrets of their “animation” and various tricks of filming.

The movie “Game of Thrones”, which captivated the whole world, will also visit “Dytiatko” Festival. Thomas Kucher, a jury member from Germany, who worked on visual effects of the movie, will share the secrets of creating the dragons. By the way, the international company Pixomondo, represented by Thomas, has a global network of studios in Los Angeles, Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Vancouver, Beijing, Toronto and Shanghai. The company produces visual effects for feature films, television and advertisements.

Manuk Depoyan, the national animation director, winner of numerous international awards, will host master class on topic “Animation: From Idea to Implementation”. The participants of the festival will learn the secrets of creating bright and exciting adventure movie from the director of the popular 3D animation fantasy movie “Mykyta Kozhumiaka”.

TV finalists, documentalists and film directors are also offered a wide range of new knowledge, skills and impressions.

Thus, Zoia Alforova, the Doctor of Arts, will host master class “Intricacies of pitching”; Nataliia Morozova, Belarusian director, will teach acting techniques on set; Hamed Soleimanzadeh, Iranian film critic, will tell how to write a great script.

The festive show “Battle of Magicians” and the viewing of the musical, the interactive lecture “Middle Ages in Modern Cinema”, flight on the plane and the helicopter, visits to the themed exhibitions, as well as the Superior Golf Club and M. Gorky Central Park of Culture and Recreation are in the list of entertainment events hosted by the organizers of the festival. Such events will complete a four-day training program of the International Television Festival “Dytiatko”, which has been conducted for the past ten years in Kharkiv region under the patronage of Sergii Chernov, Chairman of the Regional Council.
